Where it is
Dakor is a temple town in Kheda district of central Gujarat, on the plains between Ahmedabad and Vadodara, beside the Gomti lake.
History
Legend tells how a devotee named Bodana brought Krishna's image as Ranchhodrai from Dwarka to Dakor, hiding it for a time in the Gomti lake. The present Ranchhodraiji temple was built around 1770 by Gopalrao Tambvekar, a Brahmin from Pune, and worship there follows rites shaped by the Vallabh tradition.
